Early planting allows:
- Better rooting
- Lower losses
- Optimal fit
- Avoid potentially losing a year of growth
- To limit watering (more rain in spring)
In order to ensure our customers a planting before June 30th of each year, we are filling our schedule now for 2023 and 2024.
Planting conditions that apply are mainly that adequate soil preparation before our arrival is complete. In return, we guarantee a very accurate GPS planting. (More details on the planting contract)

It is not a question of genetic manipulation but of hybridization.
There is no genetic manipulation authorized on any variety in France. The varieties are crossed to obtain resistance against diseases (downy mildew and powdery mildew). Within a few years, several dozen resistant varieties should emerge from different breeding programs.
There are a couple of resistant varieties available now named Voltis and Floreal. These varieties are resistant to diseases, especially downy mildew, and powdery mildew. (Expected to require only 2 treatments per year). They are white grape varieties. These grape varieties are resistant to diseases, but we have very little perspective as far as resistance to cold is concerned. We planted Voltis and Floreal in Quebec and will see how they survived the winter in the spring.
Red grape varieties are not yet suitable for Canada. (Too productive and too late)
Leafroll is a regulated virus.
Every batch sent to Canada is analyzed by French authorities. Samples from mother blocks and from the nursery fields are also tested every 3 years.
Each batch is accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate.
